Working on

A handful of hardware documentation projects at Zebra, including some new product releases. Still tweaking the authoring guide we overhauled last year, too — that kind of document is never actually done.

Learning

• Going deeper on DITA best practices and structured authoring — there's always more nuance in it than I expect.
• Poking at how docs-as-code could work more broadly across our pipelines, especially for the software side.

Thinking about

The gap between docs that are technically correct and docs that are actually useful. Those aren't the same thing, and I think most teams optimize for the wrong one.

Outside work

Planning the next trip, putting in trail miles, and finally pulling the trigger on a PC build I've been putting off for months. Also trying to slow down with photography — take fewer shots, think more about each one.
